Use Abra's Private visibility setting to run exclusive promotions only accessible via a private link. Perfect for targeted email campaigns, SMS blasts, or paid ads, private promotions let you control who can access your offers without needing customer tags or logins.

What Are Private Promotions?

Private promotions in Abra are hidden from the public and can only be accessed through a private Abra-generated link. You can configure these links to direct customers to a specific destination of your choice, whether that's a particular collection, product, or landing page. Once customers click through the private link, the promotion becomes active throughout their entire session across your store.

Visibility Options in Abra

Abra has the following visibility options:

• Private: Only accessible via a private Abra-generated link. Great for email, SMS, or ad campaigns.

• Public: Available to everyone visiting your storefront.

• Customer Account: Only visible to logged-in customers who have a specific Shopify customer tag.

How to Set Up a Private Promotion

1. Create your promotion in Abra

2. Set Visibility to Private

   

3. Click Promote to copy the promotion link or change the link destination

   

4. Optional: Change the destination of the Private link:

   • Private promotions work anywhere on your store as long as the ?abralink=PROMOTION-CODE parameter is included in the URL. If you'd like to direct customers to a specific landing page (like a collection or product page), you can enter the page URL here. Otherwise, the Private link will default to the homepage.

   • Next, click Done to save the new link. Then, you can click “Copy link” to copy the landing page url with the unique Abra link

   

5. Add any Storefront blocks, then save and share the promotion link via email, SMS, or ads

   • Only customers who receive and click the link will be able to access the promotion

Tips & Best Practices

• Enhance with Dynamic Pricing: We recommend setting up Dynamic Pricing alongside your private promotions to to automatically display discounted prices throughout your store. When combined with private link settings, only customers with the link will see the special pricing while browsing, making the offer feel truly exclusive and increasing conversion rates. • Customize Storefront blocks: You can also add targeted banners that appear only for customers accessing your private promotion. This allows you to reinforce the exclusivity and can significantly boost conversion rates on your private campaigns.
